New

The core idea behind Letterlist remains the same as it’s been for a decade…

To provide the simplest way to discover amazing newsletters.

So when I built this latest release, imaginatively called v4, I focused on better discovery and stripped away whatever isn’t essential.

First to go was user accounts so you no longer need to login to the website to subscribe to newsletters. That was just getting in the way. And honestly, it was technically the hardest part of the platform to maintain. Publishers jump between EMS tools, from Mailchimp to Substack to Convertkit to Beehiiv, breaking things more often than I’d like.

But what about 1-click subscriptions? That’s what makes Letterlist so cool.

Oh yeah, I love that too. So it’s staying.

… but only for subscribers to the Letterlist newsletter, which is also getting an overhaul (and a new name).

It’s called The bcc.

You can still subscribe to newsletters with 1-click from the Letterlist email newsletter, at least where the publisher allows. A kind of app within an email.

Secretly, I’d love to bring back 1-click subscriptions to the website too, possibly as part of a membership for people who believe in what I’m doing here and want to support us. Another story for another time.
